Coming back to TU Dortmund University after almost 20 years!
In December 2023, Brazilian SPRING alumnus Mozart Fazito Rezende Filho visited the Department for a week. He is part of the SPRING Batch 2004/06, spent the second year of the program at Ardhi University in Tanzania and graduated in 2006.
After his graduation, Mozart earned a PhD in Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy from the National University of Ireland (University College Dublin) and is currently working as lecturer and scientist at the Tourism Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in Natal. He has studied different planning- and development related issues in Brazil, consulted for the Brazilian government and has been part of several research projects. A specialist in qualitative methods to explore in-depth case studies of extractive industries and infrastructure projects in tourist regions, his current research focuses on recent large investments on wind plants in the tourist regions of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
During his weeklong visit, he held a seminar on infrastructure planning, talked to the current SPRING students about his career and discussed with the SPRING management about possible future collaboration.
