No, the second year is not offered in Germany. You can only choose between one of our partner universities in Ghana, Tanzania, The Philipines, Brazil and Chile.

The TU Dortmund University itself does not offer scholarships.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia provide a limited number of scholarships for the SPRING Programme.

Prior to the arrival, all participants of the program are well informed about how to be prepared for a one-year stay in Germany. This includes information about accommodation, transportation, and suggestions about what to bring to Germany (e.g. clothing, money, academic literature).
A detailed explanation on how to reach Dortmund main rail station from Frankfurt and Düsseldorf International Airports is provided, together with the names and telephone numbers of the contact persons and a map of the meeting point in the main station.
During the German language course in the first year of the SPRING Programme information about German history, geography, culture and everyday living aspects is provided in the context of tutorial courses, socio-cultural activities and excursions.

Generally, the probability to get admission is rather low if you neither have a spatial planning related academic degree nor spatial planning related work experience. However, the admission committee assesses applications based on individual professional qualifications and experience as well as on particular and relevant statements made in the application documents. Therefore, please study the SPRING profile carefully and evaluate if it fits properly with your career objectives, before applying.
No, please only submit complete applications. Applications not accompanied by the required documents will not be considered.
The entire two-year SPRING program is also offered at our partner university KNUST in Ghana. If it is more convenient for you to conduct your studies in Ghana this can be a suitable option for you.
In that case you should register for the test, submit your application documents without the English certificate and give us notice about the date you are taking the test. In case you will be admitted to the program, this admission will only be valid upon submission of the English certificate. However, this should be done only as exception. Due to the high number of applications the selection committee might give preference to an equally qualified candidate with a proof of English proficiency.

In all universities of the program, SPRING organises accommodation in student hostels for all participants who have formally expressed their will to stay in these facilities. This is organised well in advance in order to provide students with an affordable place to stay the very moment they arrive in Dortmund, Kumasi, Dar es Salaam, Manila and Valdivia.
