The international students of the SPRING - class 2019/20 were warmly welcomed to our de­part­ment by the dean Prof. Dr. Thorsten Wiechmann and the head of the course Prof'in Dr. Sophie Schramm on 07 October 2019.

Previously, the SPRING students took part in a five-week German and regional studies course financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This year's regional studies excursion took students on a journey through German history in the footsteps of German poets, architects and composers.

The academic year started with the Opening Ceremony. Teachers and de­part­ment staff introduced themselves to the students and had the opportunity to get to know the 16 international participants from 11 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe better with regard to their academic careers and professional background.

On the second weekend of the semester the SPRING students took part in the seminar "Cross Cultural Training" - also financed by the DAAD. Supported by a professional moderator, the students reflected and discussed about their first experiences in Germany as well as about expectations and challenges of the special intercultural learning situation and prejudices against other cultures.
