SPRING student at ACP/EC/UN-Habitat International Tripartite Conference

Sègla Emmanuelle Laurinda GODJO, SPRING student Batch 2017/19, from Benin Republic, has attended the Third ACP/EC/UN-Habitat International Tripartite Conference on “Transforming African, Caribbean and Pacific cities, leaving no one behind: engaging in large scale investments in slums” in Brussels from 14th to 16th November 2018.

The conference assembled  Ministers, Mayors, civil society, NGOs, research institutions, academia, financing partners, regional development bodies, private sector as well as UN and development agencies from all over the world to share experiences, achievements, methodologies and tools for up-scaling slum upgrading and affordable housing. Laurinda, as Benin civil society, academia and community representative had the honor of being part of the opening panel of the conference where she explained the roles the civil society is playing in upgrading slums in Benin. From 17th to 18th she attended the training workshop organized by UN-Habitat on monitoring human settlements indicators of SDGs and the New Urban Agenda.
