Dortmund students win C40 students re-inventing cities competition

The competition "Students re-inventing cities" was organized by the international city network C40 and UN Habitat. Numerous student teams from all over the world competed to tackle the problems of climate-friendly urban development as defined by the C40 partner cities (Link to students re-inventing cities). The Dortmund team chose neighborhood Westwood/Highland Park in Seattle. In the contribution entitled "Westwood next door," the students made proposals for sustainable development of the Westwood neighborhood, located in Seattle's periphery. Elements of the strategy were: Promoting cycling, sharing economy, greening central streetscapes, and temporary uses of brownfields and vacant buildings to thrive community life in Westwood

Congratulations to David Bothor, Sophie Holtkötter, Fatbardha (Bianca) Gela, Fabia Scharf, Alina Tholen and Leonie Zickler.
