International Joint Master of Science SPRING - Regional Development Planning and Management

SPRING is a two-year Master´s degree program on urban and regional planning in rapidly urbanising regions. SPRING addresses current questions and innovative practices of urban and regional planning with a strong comparative focus and an international orientation. In lectures and seminars international planning students and early career planners share and enlarge their knowledge on urban and regional planning, governance, housing, infrastructure systems and land management in times of climate change. The core of the first year is a research project that is co-designed with students who apply and deepen their knowledge from lectures and seminars. SPRING builds on a dynamic network of partner Universities across the globe. In the first year of the study program, SPRING takes place at TU Dortmund University, home to Germany’s largest planning school, the department of Spatial Planning. This is followed by a second year at one of the five partner universities in Ghana, Tanzania, The Philippines, or Brazil. Language of instruction is English. SPRING students receive final documents that are jointly issued by TU Dort¬mund University and the partnering university students choose for their second study year.
