For the first time, all new international Master's students of our department have been welcomed to TU Dortmund University on 07th October 2021 during the "Opening Ceremony".

Fortunately, many students were able to travel to Germany despite difficult Corona travel conditions. In order to enable everyone to participate in the event, the hybrid format and the technology in GB I Room 103 was used and the students from far away from Dortmund were added via zoom.

Prof. Dr. Tessa Flatten (Prorector for International Relations), Prof. Dr. Thorsten Wiechmann (Dean of the Department of Spatial Planning), Sandra Fortuna and Dr. Anne Weber (SPZ of the Department of Spatial Planning) welcomed the students from the Master SPRING, the Erasmus Programme and the Master Spatial Planning - Specialisation Urban Transformation.

Afterwards, Dr. Tetyana Müller-Lyaskovets (Centre for University Education) gave the participants an insight into the courses offered by TU Dortmund University on "Academic Writing": Finally, Delena Rajanathan (Student Assistant SPRING) introduced them to the online university portals LSF, BOSS and Moodle and gave them an insight into fire protection, disaster emergency and building evacuation measures.

After lunch, the international students had the opportunity to meet separately with their program and Erasmus coordinators (Sandra Fortuna, Dr. Anne Weber and Dr. Mehdi Vazifedoost) to discuss program and program-specific issues and organisational matters.

On the 08th October, the SPRING students focused on getting to know each other through poster presentations.

The SPRING team wishes the new SPRING batch and all new international students a good start to their studies and is looking forward to the academic year together.
