On May 17th, 2024, three SPRING alumni came back to TU Dortmund to meet the current SPRING students and to share their academic and professional experiences gained during and after graduating from the SPRING Programme.

María Belén Vásquez (SPRING Batch 2021/23), Kiula Peter Kiula (SPRING Batch 2011/13) and Himanshu Shekar (SPRING Batch 2010/12), each gave a presentation on the topic "Academic and professional career - challenges and advices on re-entering the job market after graduating from the Master SPRING" in which they outlined their career paths and provided valuable insights into their current roles.

María Belén Vásquez reported on her passion as an Urban Mobility Researcher, while Kiula Peter Kiula described the various steps in his professional career after SPRING and introduced the audience to his current work as PHD Student at TU Munich. Himanshu Shekar, currently working as Associate Academic Officer at the United Nations University - Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) in Bonn, impressed the participants with a review on his international work experience. It became clear how diverse the career options are after graduation and what paths can lead to success.

After the presentations, the current students had the chance to address any uncertainties and questions in an extensive Q&A session. This direct interaction allowed them to receive concrete advice and tips, gaining a realistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the professional world.

The event not only provided students with the opportunity to make valuable connections but also offered the chance to be inspired and gain new perspectives. The exchange with the alumni was an enriching experience for everyone involved, making the path to the future a bit clearer and more tangible.

We sincerely thank the former students for their time and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences, and we look forward to more such inspiring encounters.
