SPRING International Plan­ning Sessions

The talk will explore the interplay between formalised and informalised practices in urban plan­ning and infrastructure delivery in secondary cities, with a focus on the concept of hybrid urbanisms.

  • Prof. Nina Gribatis Professor for Urban Plan­ning at Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus–Senftenberg, Germany. Her research interests include: hybrid urbanisms and infrastructural delivery configurations in the global South; governance and plan­ning in the context of peripheralisation; and cultural actor networks in rural areas.
  • Dr. Christian Rosen is a sociologist and currently works as a postdoctoral researcher on the DFG funded graduate school Organizing Architectures at TU Darmstadt. His research interests include urban development practices, especially in the global South, secondary cities, comparative research, political sociology and spatial theory

The SPRING International Plan­ning Sessions are aimed at students, doctoral students and researchers of the Department of Spatial Plan­ning, but is open to everyone interested in development related topics.

It is designed to provide valuable insights into the theory and practice of the field of development politics. Therefore we regularly invite researchers and practitioners from the most relevant national and international institutions.
